Reliance's grid connected solar plant records highest CUF at 18.8%
Reliance Industries Limited's 5 MW solar power plant at Khimsar, Rajasthan recorded the highest net capacity utilization factor at 18.8% among six grid connected solar plants.
Of the six plants, four have completed one year of operation. These includes projects developed by WBGEDCL, Azure Power, Mahagenco and Reliance Industries. Although the CUF of the four plants lies in the range of 12.29% to 18.8%, the average CUF was lower due to the West Bengal plant, which was the first plant to be commissioned.
For all plants, the lowest performance was observed in the first two months of synchronization of a solar power plant with the grid.
The lowest CUF for the WBGEDCL project stood at 10.52% in December 2009, while that for the RIL project stood at 10.17% in August 2010.
