
BHEL bags DBPL contract for 1320 MW plant
BHEL has again secured a thermal power plant contract from Dainik Bhaskar Power Limited.
The latest is for setting up a 1,320 MW plant in the Gorgi village in the state of Madhya Pradesh.
Valued at Rs 3,783 crore, the order envisages design, engineering, manufacture, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of supercritical boilers, steam turbines and turbo-generators along with state-of-the-art Controls and Instrumentation and other associated auxiliaries.
Alongside this, the state owned equipment major has claimed the rights for supply and installation of 16 supercritical steam generators, turbines and generators of 660 MW, 700 MW and 800 MW ratings. In the last two fiscals alone, 71% of the total orders, to the tune of 31,560 MW, which are under execution by BHEL have been received by independent power plants alone.
To meet the growing demands of the power sector, BHEL has helped in setting up a range of thermal plants, including 2x660 MW Barh Thermal Power Project Stage-II of NTPC, 3x660 MW Bara Thermal Power Project of Prayagraj Power Generation Company Limited, a part of the Jaypee Group, 2x800 MW Yeramarus and 1x800 MW Edlapur Thermal Power Projects of Raichur Power Corporation Limited.
