Toshiba joins consortium for solar-wind project in Japan
Toshiba is participating in a seven-company consortium headced by Mitsui in plans to construct and operate a solar photovoltaic plant in Japan. Toshiba will be responsible for engineering, procurement and construction of the solar photovoltaic plant.
A feasibility study is being prepared for a combined solar and wind power plant in Tahara, Japan, to begin construction in 2012.
The 50MW photovoltaic and 6MW wind power generation plant will be set up with an investment of 18bn yen ($234m), following the feasibility study.
