Power crisis looms in Andhra Pradesh
Power crisis in Andhra Pradesh is expected to worsen with an average power shortfall of 1,180 million units from January-May 2012.
The deficit situation is mainly on account of RIL D-6 gas shortfall, unavailability of hydel capacity and high agriculture power demand during Rabi Season, and constraints from transmission corridors.
Distribution companies have gotten only 540 MW capacity against request of 1,400 MW and the same is expected to reduce further in case power is allocated from NTPC`s Jhajjar plant to beneficiaries of southern region.
