6 power turbines closed at Pakistan's Tarbela Dam
A serious electricty supply situation occurred in Pakistan after six power turbines of Tarbela dam were closed due to decrease in water level in the dam.
According to the management, only eight of the 14 turbines were left to generate electricity.
The remaining eight units generate 650 MW electricity and if the situation persisted, it is feared that the remaining turbines could also break down.
The management noted that the water level is at 1,378 feet in the dam.
