Genco to set up Andhra Pradesh's 100 MW solar plants

The Andhra Pradesh Government has permitted Generation Corporation of Andhra Pradesh to set up 100 MW solar power plants close to the existing thermal and hydel power plants.

This move is part of the State Government plan to encourage renewable energy projects both solar and wind energy farms.

AP Principal Secretary, Energy, Mr Dinesh Kumar, said the State would take up renewable energy projects in consultation with the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.

To bridge the growing demand supply gap, it is proposed to encourage renewable energy projects.
