Gas allocation badly needed for 351MW Gujarat plant

Gujarat State Energy Generation Ltd., Gandhinagar is making a pressing case for allocation of gas to its 351 MW Combined Cycle Power Project at Hazira in District Surat.

The plant, which was commissioned in March this year has since been lying idle for want of gas.

A whopping Rs 1,200 crore has been pumped into the project, and with the loan repayments that have already started, there is very little for the company to play with.
