SMA Solar to provide inverters for Japan’s largest solar plant

SMA Solar Technology will supply inverters to Kagoshima Mega Solar Power’s 70MW solar plant, which is set to be completed by next fall.

Located in Kagoshima City in southern Japan, it is said to be the country’s largest solar plant.

SMA Solar Technology CEO Pierre-Pascal Urbon expects strong growth in all merket segments with the introduction of a feed-in tariff for solar power and the decision of the government to phase out nuclear power by 2040.
