More wind and solar power to be distributed in China by June
China will soon enjoy more wind and solar-generated electricity.
These will come from Jiuquan of Gansu Province, Hami of Xinjiang, and Qaidam Basin in Qinghai Province.
It will be transmitted throughout the country as Xinjiang's power lines get connected with the rest of northwest China by June next year, said the State Grid Corporation of China.
The main construction work of the power transmission line will concluded on Saturday, three months ahead of schedule.
The 1,099-km line of 750 kv started construction on May 13 with an investment of 1.5 billion U.S. dollars.
The line will increase Xinjiang outward power transmission capacity to 5 million kilowatts, or 40 billion kilowatt hours a year, according to the SGCC.
