India has urgent need for more power

Also needs more renewable and nuclear energy.

Minister of State for Commerce and Industry D Purandeswari noted a big gap between demand and supply in the power sector and the the shortage is hitting India’s industrial growth.

She also emphasized the need for renewable energy production since coal reserves are fast depleting. She said 30 countries depend on nuclear power and it is the responsibility of governments to remove apprehensions and fear among the people on use of nuclear power.
