Bangladesh to purchase of 61,650 electric poles

Bangladesh will purchase of 61,650 electric poles to achieve 1.8 million new power connections in rural areas.

The cabinet committee on the national purchase approved the power division proposal, which is priced at Tk 124 crore.

The cabinet division’s deputy secretary Joynal Abedin said that Nordic Woods Limited would supply 11,000 electric wooden poles for Tk 28.28 crore.

Confidence Power limited and Doyence & Confident won the purchase deal for the supply of 50,650 electric poles made of iron.

The committee also approved two other power division proposals for the purchase of 35 transformers and bare conductors.

Techno Venture bagged the deal for the supply of transformers for Tk 44.62 crore and SBS Cables will supply bare conductors for Tk 53.21 crore.
