Jindal to build 2640MW Indian thermal power plant
Jindal Steel and Power will set up a mega thermal power plant in Kamdara block in Gumla district.
The power plant will have 2640 MW (4X660) capacity.
The proposed plant will be an independent power producing project operated by the company's subsidiary unit Jindal Power Limited.
The power plant, situated in politcally uncertain Maoist-hit areas of Jharkhand, will come up with an estimated investment of around Rs 18,000-19,0000 crore and will need at least 50-60 million cubic metres (MCM) water per annum for smooth operation.
