China Power Investment plans US$17 billion Indonesian investments
Funds will go to hydropower plant projects in North Kalimantan.
State-owned China Power Investment Corporation hopes to start the projects next year. Indonesian Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Jero Wacik said that a hydropower station with a designed capacity of 7,000 megawatt will generate electricity by using the water in Kayan river.
China Power Investment is also interested in taking part in the development of renewable energy.
