China to bolster energy sustainability efforts

Sees resource conservation and environment protection as basic national policies.

Vice Minister of Industry and Information Technology Liu Lihua said China will continue to promote sustainable energy use and green low-carbon development. He noted that the Chinese government attaches great importance to energy resources and environmental issues.

He admitted that China still faces major challenges, but added that the Chinese government has taken measures to enhance energy efficiency, develop green and low-carbon industries and improve environmental protection.
