India, Germany forge energy pact
Agreement covers financial and technical cooperation.
The agreement signed by India and Germany covers priority areas such as energy, environmental issues and management of natural resources.
Germany has committed to support expansion of renewable energy in India with US$1.3 billion.
Germany said the agreement clearly shows its determination to further strengthen our long-standing partnership with India in the field of development cooperation.
It said India and Germany had negotiated about US$956 million worth projects in 2012 as part of a pact on development cooperation between them.
