Grid-scale battery starts operations in Fukuoka
The 1.4MW/4.2MWh project will minimise solar power curtailment.
A 1.4-megawatt (MW)/4.2 MW-hour grid-scale battery storage system begins operations in Tagawa-gun, Fukuoka Prefecture in Japan.
In a statement, Mitsubishi Corporation said the facility was developed alongside NTT Anode Energy Corporation and the Kyushu Electric Power Company, Inc.

“The aim of this system is to promote renewable energy as a major power supply by minimising solar power curtailment,” the statement read.
