Xi'an to host China's largest wind power R&D center
China Northern Locomotive will invest another US$882.4 million in western China's Xi'an city for the largest wind power facility research center.
According to the agreement between China Northern Locomotive and Rolling Stock Industry Corporation and the municipal government of Xi'an of Shaanxi Province, US$601 million will be invested first in six wind power product manufacturing projects, which are scheduled to be completed in 2011.
The second phase involves an investment of US$300.5 million to build railway transportation and develop wind power system by 2015,according to the agreement.
The company has invested US$150.27 million and developed six projects in the city since 2000, said the company.
