Schott Solar signs PV contract with Premier Solar India
Schott Solar has signed a contract with Premier Solar, India, to deliver 200,000 Schott ASI photovoltaic modules.
Schott said the contract comprises a total volume of 20MW, out of which it would supply 10MW in 2011 and 10MW in 2012.
The PV modules will be installed in 2011 by Premier Solar's new EPC division, Premier Solar Power Tech, in a grid-connected ground mount system.
The PV system will produce clean solar energy to serve over 40,000 households.
The order is part of grid-connected power plants to be installed under the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy Phase I of Jawahar Lal Nehru National Solar Mission of India.
Managing director of Premier Solar Chiranjeev Saluja said that the company selected Schott modules because of their proven durability and reliability as well as Schott's long-standing experience in thin film technology and their industry-leading 30-year warranty.
