Bangladesh PM orders increased renewable energy generation

Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina wants to utilize renewable energy in improving the counrtry's power situation.

The Prime Minister gave the directives to authorities of Infrastructure Development Company Limited to be more active for increasing renewable energy generation while presiding over a meeting with company officials.

The Prime Minister expressed her personal eagerness on renewable energy like biogas, windmill and solar system and asked the IDCOL officials to make the renewable energy more popular among the people.

Laying emphasis on the use of clean energy to minimize the adverse impact of climate change caused by global
warming, Sheikh Hasina suggested the IDCOL authorities to raise generation of renewable energy in the coastal belt and hill tract areas.
