NDPL pegs power purchase requirement at 7,974 MU for FY12
North Delhi Power Limited's power purchase requirements for FY 2011-12 stand at 7,974.04 million units.
This represents an 8% growth over its requirement of 7,383.37 MU in FY 2010-11.
The utility, against its energy sales of 6,892 million units for the ongoing fiscal, expects a distribution loss of 13.57%, down from 16.58%, which was approved by the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission in its Multi Year Tariff order for last fiscal.
NDPL has estimated the revised power purchase cost for FY 2010-11 at Rs 3,094.70 crore as against Rs 2,092 crore approved by the DERC.
Further, the utility's power purchase cost estimate for FY 2011-12 stands at Rs 3,590.37 crore, at an average power purchase cost of Rs 4.50/kwh.
