5MW tidal energy project in the Philippines shrinks to 1.5MW
Developers scaled it down according to local consumption.
The planned tidal energy project for San Bernardino Strait has been scaled down to 1.5MW from 5MW to "fit the local consumption," according to developers PNOC RC, H&WB Asia Pacific and French company Sabella.
The project will now make use of three tidal turbines with 500kW capacity each.
H&WB Asia Pacific and Sabella are currently in talks with financial firms to fund the debt component of the $25m project.
