LDK Solar to construct solar plant in Zhangye, China

LDK Solar has signed an engineering, procurement and construction contract for a solar project in Zhangye, China with Guodian Longyuan Zhangye New Energy.

The first phase of building work began earlier this month and grid connection is scheduled for late December. Financial details regarding the agreement were not disclosed.

"We are very pleased to work with Guodian Longyuan Zhangye New Energy Limited, an outstanding developer of electricity and new energy. This agreement demonstrates that an increasing number of major customers in China are relying on LDK Solar's quality products and services," said Xiaofeng Peng, LDK's chairman and CEO.
