NHPC fed up with BHEL's incompetency
With a string of problems preventing the timely commissioning of the 44 MW Chutak hydro electric project, NHPC has
lashed out at BHEL for its laid back attitude and failure to take adequate action regarding critical activities for the project.
Fearing that the Chutak HEP will suffer the same fate as its other projects, NHPC has asked the equipment major to step up its act and primarily focus on augmenting manpower at the site. Currently, the project's commissioning schedule has spun out of control due to desertion of manpower without any notice.
Apart from this, BHEL must ensure that the damaged materials are replaced and the cabling crew is strengthened at the earliest in order to avoid any further lapse in completion of works. Furthermore, BHEL has to quickly identify all goods that are falling short of the requirement, such that all supplies are delivered at the site before the Srinagar-Kargil highway closes in mid November 2011.
