Tata Power eyeing 6 projects to boost 5,341 MW addition

Tata Power has 13 projects of capacity worth 5,341 MW under implementation stage which it plans to add to its renewable energy portfolio this fiscal.

 

These include 7 greenfield projects of 4,794 MW capacity, including 3 thermal projects, namely the 1,600 MW Coastal Maharashtra thermal power project, 660 MW Naraj Marthapur independent power project and the 1,980 MW Tiruldih IPP, the 240 MW Sorik Marapi Geothermal project in Indonesia, the 236 MW Dugar hydro-electric project in the state of Himachal Pradesh, along with the 88 MW Vispaur Wind power project and a 10 MW Solar power project.

Land acquisition is in progress for the Coastal Maharashtra, Tiruldih and Naraj Marthapur projects. The latter has obtained the main clearances required for the project, and has also begun the process for environmental clearance.

In addition, the power major has six expansion projects under planning, including the Maithon and Mundra Phase-II projects, which are to be fueled by domestic and imported coal, respectively, along with a 200 MW wind project.
