Azure Power commissions 3rd solar plant in less than 2 years
Azure Power has commissioned its third solar plant, located in Rajasthan, in just under two years.
The latest 5MW plant will be found in Kathauti village and is said to be the first 5MW plant under the Jawaharlal
Nehru National Solar Mission.
The solar project falls under Phase I, Batch I of the JNNSM and will provide power to Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam. The installation is spread over 40 acres of land with Azure intending to present community awareness plans to Kathauti citizens that will educate them further on PV technology.
"With the commissioning of our third grid connected plant, we have now demonstrated our strong engineering and construction capabilities in three different states in India. With the recent allocation of National solar mission projects, we have also shown our long-term commitment in driving down the prices of solar power in India, in line with the ambitions of the National Solar Mission," said Azure Power CEO Inderpreet Wadhwa.
