NHPC releases Rs 10 crore aid for 240 MW HEP project
Hindustan Construction Company has finally obtained financial assistance throughf an interest bearing advance of Rs 10 crore from the NHPC.
This will help mitigate the ongoing cash flow problems of the HCC, who is the contractor for NHPC's Uri-II hydroelectric project.
As per the latest update on the said project, the invert lining of the tail race tunnel has now been completed while 21 m of overt lining still remains to be concluded, with works having stalled at this front for the past two months.
Pertinently, works at the head race tunnel are progressing smoothly with a meager 25 m and 20 m of total HRT overt lining and invert lining, respectively, left to be completed.
Looking at the financial aspects of the project, the project cost is now being anticipated at Rs 1,794 crore, 4% higher than earlier level of Rs 1,724.79 crore. The cumulative expenditure on the project, up to November 2011, stands at Rs 1,603.83 crore.
