NTPC asked to shut down plant units over pollution issues

NTPC has been asked to shut down four units of 500MW each at its Talcher super thermal power station in Orissa, India.

 

The notice was given by state agency Orissa State Pollution Control Board for NTPC's alleged failure to address concerns over fly ash disposal from the plant's six units.

NTPC runs the units with a combined thermal power generation capacity of 3,000MW per annum.
