600 MW Mettur TPS unit anticipated to be coal fired by year end

The coal handling plant of the first unit of Mettur thermal is likely to be ready for coal bunkering by the end of December 2011.

Civil works and structural fabrication for the coal handling plant are in progress, although structural erection is likely to take another 5-6 months.

The ash handling plant is expected to be ready by the first month of 2012.

Oil synchronization is anticipated to be achieved by early December, 2011and the unit is expected to attain full load by end of January next year, as opposed to the previous target of September 2011.
