BHEL wants 250 MW Pragati CCGT commissioned in advance

BHEL is trying to commission the steam turbine of the Pragati Bawana Combined Cycle Gas Turbine unit-ST-1 a month in advance.

Its expected date of commissioning is January 2012.

Furthermore, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited has targeted achievement of full load within the current year.

The ST test was synchronized with the heat recovery steam generator-I on October 3, 2011 while HRSG-II steam blowing operations is likely to be completed by this month.

The main concern of the developer is availability of the cooling tower at the plant site since it constitutes a major part of the Balance of Plant works and 6 out of a total 16 cells are now available while the next 2 are also expected to be available soon.
