Chinese JV wins EPC contracts for Bangla power projects

The NEPC-NEIE joint venture came out as successful EPC contractor to build the two big power plant projects in Bangladesh.

 

The contracts are worth around $460 million to build two 341-MW capacities Bibiyana I and II power plants of Summit Group.

The Chinese JV topped global power heavyweights including Indian Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd, Chinese Shandong Electric Power Engineering Consulting Institute Corp Ltd and Indian Lanco Group.

‘We have selected the Chinese joint venture as the EPC contractor of our two vital power plant projects after judging its competence and competitiveness,’ chief executive officer of Summit Bibiyana I Power Company Ltd and Summit Bibiyana II Power Company Ltd, SM Noor Uddin.
