GCL-Poly to install 1GW solar capacity in Shanxi

GCL-Poly will install 1GW of solar capacity in Shanxi province and is eyeing Datong City for its project location.

A provisional agreement has been signed with CGN Solar Energy Development, stating that engineering, procurement and construction, as well as on-site management, will carried out by GCL, while CGN, a subsidiary of China Guangdong Nuclear Power Group will provide technical assistance.

GCL is planning to install the 1GW in Datong City on a phase-by-phase basis, with CGN signing separate contracts for each stage.

Although a formal contract is yet to be signed, CGN has agreed to make a down-payment to GCL-Poly before construction begins. No further details about the project or its construction timetable have been revealed.
