Neyveli Lignite awaits coal allocation for 120 MW project

Neyveli Lignite Corporation is pursuing expeditious allocation of long term coal linkage worth 0.33 million tonnes of 'E' or 'F' grade coal.

In demanding the allocation from the Ministry of Coal, the group said this is necessary to enable it to operate its 2X60 MW power plant, located near the Bhuvaneshwari mine of Talcher coalfields in Orissa.

NLC has pointed out that the Ministry of Power has allowed companies to seek additional coal linkage for installing washery rejects based power plants. As a part of this provision, the fuel, formed by blending additional raw coal with the washery rejects in the ratio of 22:78 percent has an improved calorific value and can be utilized for running a power plant.
