Repairs demanded for Nepal wind energy centre
Local residents have been demanding that Nepal's first wind energy centre constructed with an investment of around US$ 138,500 be reestablished.
The centre is ruined.
It produced electricity only for two months and was shut down two decades ago after its two fans were destroyed by high wind blowing from the north.
Unfortunately, nobody bothered to repair the 20-KW energy centre constructed.
Its equipments worth hundreds of thousands of ruppes were already stolen. Some of the equipments have been broken.
