Suzlon, Gamesa give acceptable bids for Indian wind project

GAIL floated an ICB e-tender for Lump Sum Turn Key contract for setting up u.

A total of three bids were received to set up commercial wind energy generation project of 24 MW with comprehensive O&M in the states of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.

 

Only two bids for three blocks -- Suzlon Energy Limited for two blocks, Sidenur, Kamataka-12.60 MW and Rastha, Tamilnadu-10.50 MW; and Gamesa Wind Turbines Pvt Ltd for one block, Karoshi, Kamataka-10.20 MW -- were found to be techno-commercially acceptable.

On opening of price bids, Suzlon turned out to be the L-1 bidder with total quote of Rs 125.18 crore.

As the price quoted by Suzlon Energy was 13.29% and 11.60% lower than the Project Management Consultant's and GAIL's internal estimates respectively, the Empowered Contracts and Procurement Committee awarded the contract to Suzlon Energy.
