NTPC blames agencies for sluggish work at Bongaigaon TPP
NTPC blames BHEL and SPML for delays in its 750 MW Bongaigaon thermal power plant.
It said that Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited was delayed in supplying the generator stator while Subhash Projects and Marketing Limited guilty tardy pace of works.
In its defense, BHEL has explained that it is still awaiting the pending railway clearance for 1 out of 5 zones and has promised to immediately dispatch the stator to the project once the requisite approval has been granted by the Ministry of Railways.
Alongside this, BHEL's inability to finalize the turbine generator erection agency has delayed the commencement of the TG erection process, thereby forcing NTPC to revise the schedule for completion of oil flushing and TG rolling and synchronization to the second half of the year 2013.
On the other hand, the excruciatingly slow pace of works by the civil contractor SPML has pushed forward the date of completion of critical milestones such as boiler light up and TG box up to August and October 2012, respectively.
