
Suzlon awarded 75.6MW wind turbine contract for Rajahastan project
Suzlon Energy has won a contract worth Rs4.7bn or $90 million from Coromandel Wind Energy Company.
Under the terms of the contract, Suzlon will supply, set up, operate and maintain a 75.6MW wind power project in the state of Rajasthan, India, for CWEC. It will also provide 36 units of its S97-2.1MW wind turbine generators for the wind project, scheduled to be commissioned in the fiscal year 2012-13.
The news follows the recent announcement that Suzlon received its fourth consecutive order from gas utility company GAIL to deliver 23MW of wind turbines in the Indian states of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
Under the contract, Suzlon will provide 11 units of its S88-2.1MW turbines, which will be commissioned by the end of the 2011-2012 financial year.
Suzlon is also expected to receive orders for a 14.7MW project currently in production in Gujarat.
