China builds 8 wind power bases in 7 provinces
China is building eight 10-million-kilowatt wind power bases in seven provinces, revealed Shi Pengfei, vice president of the Chinese Wind Energy Association.
According to China Business News, these eight bases are located in regions with rich wind energy resources, including Jiuquan in Gansu Province, Hami in Xinjiang, Hebei Province, Jilin Province, eastern Inner Mongolia, western Inner Mongolia as well as Jiangsu and Shandong provinces.
Shi noted that the planning and construction of the 10-million-kilowatt wind power bases will ensure the total output of electricity produced by China’s wind power reaches 100 million kilowatts by 2020 as well as help realize the goals proposed in the “Medium and Long-term Development Plan for Renewable Energy.”
Parties are currently solving the problem of power transmission to the North China Grid Company.
