
Russia to assist Bangladesh power sector development
Russian ambassador to Bangladesh Gennady P. Trotsenko said Russia is keen to support Bangladesh to develop
its power sector.
Trotsenko made the proposal at a meeting with state minister for power, energy and mineral resources Mohummad
Enamul Haque at his secretariat office.
He led a 9-member team of Engineering Center UES, a private company of Russia during the meeting.
Secretary of the Power Division Mohammad Abul Kalam Azad, Chairman of ECUSE Anatoly Kopsov and senior officials of the power division and ECUSE were present.
The Russian delegation submitted a proposal to the power division to install a 450 MW power plant and a renovation
and rehabilitation plan of Ghorasal power plant on Build, own, operate and transfer (BOOT) basis.
Abul Kalam Azad told the Russian Ambassador that the government would examine the proposal and let them know the government stand on it.
